Transactions in the CCS refer to mitigation offsets through the sale or transfer of credits. Credits may either be purchased from a private party or transferred from an internal source (e.g., public lands credit project) to offset a debit project’s debits for the term of the disturbance.

Transacted credits are from projects that have committed to protecting, enhancing, or restoring greater sage-grouse (GRSG) habitat for at least a 30-year term, coinciding with the term of the Debit Project they offset. Upon each transaction, a portion of the credit sale is set aside in a Financial Assurance account by the Credit Project Proponent to ensure sufficient funds are available for long-term project maintenance.

For a list of current and anticipated debit and credit projects, see the latest Semi-Annual Report. For contact information for credit and debit projects, active Proponents and Verifiers can contact the SETT
